Job Summary:

The Dental Assistant at Fort Belknap Service Unit is responsible for providing chairside assistance during dental procedures, supporting dentists and hygienists to ensure efficient and effective patient care. The role requires recent experience with 1-2 years in dental assisting, including skills in nitrous oxide and anesthetic administration. The position supports clinical operations by preparing instruments, managing patient care activities, and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists and hygienists during dental procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
• Assist with patient management and comfort during treatment.
• Administer nitrous oxide and local anesthetics as certified.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
• Support scheduling and coordination of patient appointments as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 1-2 years recent experience in dental assisting with chairside support.
• Certification in nitrous oxide and local anesthetic administration.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a clinical dental environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of dental assisting experience.
• Experience with advanced dental procedures and patient care.

Special Considerations:

• Position is a critical fill requiring immediate availability.
• Must comply with all clinical safety and infection control standards.
• May require flexibility to work in a fast-paced dental clinic environment.

Scheduling:

• Temporary assignment from 08/24/2026 to 11/28/2026.
• Full-time schedule with shifts determined by clinic needs.
