Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, review, and modify HVAC systems including AHUs, ductwork, heating, cooling, humidification, and filtration systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations for airflow, load, pressure, and energy efficiency.
  • Ensure HVAC systems comply with GMP, GEP, FDA, and site standards.
  • Review and approve HVAC drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and change controls.
  • Support HVAC system commissioning, qualification, and requalification activities.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC system failures, deviations, airflow imbalances, and temperature control issues.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams for real-time issue resolution.
  • Support HVAC systems integrated with Building Automation Systems (BAS), including alarm monitoring, trend analysis, and automation changes.
  • Lead or support capital projects, retrofits, system upgrades, and energy optimization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, engineering standards, validation documentation, and change control records.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, safety reviews, and deviation investigations.
  • Support utilities including chilled water, steam, compressed air, and HVAC infrastructure.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3–8+ years of HVAC engineering or utilities engineering experience.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other GMP-regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, cleanroom operations, BAS controls, and regulatory compliance.
