Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bank Teller for a direct hire opportunity in San Mateo, CA. This role is ideal for a customer-focused banking professional who enjoys building relationships, supporting branch growth, and providing accurate, efficient financial services to consumer and business clients.

The Bank Teller will support daily teller transactions, open and service accounts, identify customer needs, and recommend appropriate banking products and services. Key Responsibilities

- Interview and profile customers to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
- Open and support consumer and business accounts, including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, and Trust and Estate Accounts.
- Process teller transactions accurately, maintain excellent balancing records, and respond to client account inquiries.
- Cross-sell bank products and services, refer customers to appropriate internal partners, and support branch profitability goals.
- Partner with management and business lines to identify sales opportunities and participate in assigned business development calls.
- Maintain compliance with banking regulations, new account procedures, documentation requirements, and Bank Secrecy Act guidelines.

Compensation and Benefits

- Compensation: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide accurate teller transaction processing, cash handling, and account servicing.
- Open and maintain consumer and business deposit accounts with proper documentation.
- Identify customer needs, cross-sell banking products, and refer clients to appropriate banking partners.
- Support branch sales goals, customer retention, and business development activities.

- 6 to 10 years of banking, teller, new accounts, or branch customer service experience.
- Strong knowledge of bank products and services, including checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, and business banking services.
- Understanding of new account laws, account titling, required documentation, and banking compliance procedures.
- Ability to support Treasury Services needs such as remote deposit capture, armored service, and courier service.
- Strong cash handling, balancing, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with tact, diplomacy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to adhere to banking regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
- Willingness to complete a minimum of 10 CRA volunteer hours per year during business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience supporting business banking clients or Treasury Services.
- Experience with customer profiling, needs-based selling, and branch business development.
- Strong track record of customer retention, relationship building, and referral generation.
